Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't bother if you don't use this everyday I bought a philips razor maybe 15 years ago, for occasional use. So when I say occasional, i mean I charge it, and used it occasionally (ever 4 weeks) for the next 6 months on the same charge! The blades never needed changing, and every now and then I would need to charge it. Finally, after over almost 2 decades it stopped working. So, I thought now that it's 2019 that there will probably even better ones, that I can use for the next 10 years. (I was wrong) I bought the Philips 3000. 1) They made it more complicated to remove and put back the blades. Why? I don't know, change for the sake of change? 2) Every time i want to use it, i have to re-charge it!! This is by far the worst feature. As I said, i'm an occasional user, so i need the battery to hold it's charge, like the philips razor i bought almost 20 years ago. But no, the 2018/2019 models holds a charge for exactly 30 min, while using or not using. I'm assuming all Philips are made with this poorer design these days, I think it's time to change brands.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good traveler This razor is good for a close comfortable shave and I use it as a travel razor as was called away and packed in a hurry and forgot my Philips 7350 (also a great shaver) as I was not looking forward to purchasing a disposable razor I lucked out and found this on sale at the local big box store purchased it and back to the hotel for a shower and shave and was impressed with the shave but disappointed there was no trimmer?...(my fault didn't look at the box closely enough) but still a great comfortable shave.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Basic corded shaver Philips made this products as unattractive as possible in order to push customers to buy the cordless shavers: - blades are most basic but are expensive to replace; - cord is cheap and tangling; - there is no trimmer on board; - there is no selection of corded shavers, this is the only model. Cordless shavers are more expensive and they need to be replaced more often as the battery does not last as long as other parts of the shaver and it cannot be changed. All said, considering cost, longevity, and lower impact on the environment this is still a preferred model for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Shaver for the Price Range This shaver itself is very well designed and ergonomic, and the shave is very comfortable and close (I have a medium or average beard) cutting shorter stubble and longer hairs with ease and is very quiet. Cleaning the product is very simple as well by washing with warm water under the tap. I found that the battery charged quicker than advertised (first charge, and battery was empty) and holds that charge for quite a while, and can be used while plugged into the mains. Overall it is an excellent shaver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All the features I wanted at a great price I previously had an older Philips shaver (that lasted years and years!) and when the moustache/sideburn trimmer broke, I needed to find a replacement. In today's age or rechargeable, cordless shavers, it was not easy to find a corded shaver with a pop-up trimmer, but this model is exactly what I wanted. Works great!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sometimes pulls hairs. Average shaver. Pulls hair sometimes and as most other shavers do not shave the neck properly. Close shave otherwise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great low cost triple rotary-head shaver Great low cost triple rotary-head shaver. Sacrificed having beard/side-burn trimmer for lower price, compared with other products available at retail.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from GUTLESS, ANEMIC SHAVER After so-so experiences with other brands, I decided to treat myself to a 'good' shaver. But the Philips 3000 Series HQ6996 turned out to be a total disappointment. The motor is sadly lacking in power. Even when fully charged it sounds & cuts like it is about to run out of power #charge#. Using the cord doesn't improve the power much. It struggles to deliver a barely adequate shave and really has trouble if the growth is more than one day. Maybe this particular shaver has a deficiency from the outset and is supposed to perform better. But how would I know - I have no basis of comparison. I have given up on it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product is a poor example of the Phillips name The cord is not the curly type Phillips used in the past and is a pain to store. The cutting heads seem dull as they pull on the stubble making the experience unpleasant. I no longer use the product after the first two weeks as I consider it a waste of money. I am totally disappointed in the product. I may have to switch brands in the future.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The poor man's trimmer. This is not my first Philip's shaving unit, but it is by far my least favorite. This unit seriously lacks cutting power and will malfunction if even the blades are mildly dirty. I constantly need to clean and dry the blades as I shave to get it to work properly. This is especially true when trimming nose hair as natural nose mucous causes unit to malfunction and requires immediate maintenance, otherwise job won't get done. I am honestly terribly disappointed with this product, especially as a long time Philip's shaving supplies user. I feel that as time has gone by, the units have been getting worse.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked well at first...... I purchased the PT710 as a back up budget shaver. I usually shave with a razor but sometimes a shaver is just the thing when you need to run out the door quickly and need a touch up. It seemed like a decent little unit. I wanted a corded shaver as I find the cordless ones do not last long when used as infrequently as I shave with one. It worked well at first, but after less than a year (of use once a week or less) the motor became slow and the unit just would not shave any more. It has been cleaned regularly as per the instructions so this is not an issue. I am rather disappointed that it would wear out this fast. Since it is out of warranty anyway, I decided to take it apart to see if it could be fixed easily. No such luck, the motor is not reparable. Quality just is not what it used to be.
