This is absolutely great TV. The picture and sound quality are surpassed by none. The connection to the internet is good. The APPS feature is outstanding.
I would recommend this TV to anyone.

This TV is great but there are very few apps available if you're not in the U.S.
The Wireless Connect does not support Windows 10 or devices for mirroring.
Picture quality is great and sound is pretty good for onboard speakers.
I'm glad I purchased this product. Love Philips

The picture is great. Netflix works well (except that the volume control disappears). But the list of apps advertised on the Canadian web site is a fiction. Only Netflix and YouTube are available. When I called I was told that if I were to take the TV to the US, I would see the apps. Of course, I like to cross the border every time I watch TV.
Software update over the network claimed that the software was current, even though I subsequently updated via USB. Makes me wonder what other "features" it has.
A little browsing (not on my TV of course) suggests that Philips Smart TV is a product for Europe, not North America.

We have previously owned Sharp and Samsung TVs. When we looked for a new one, we noticed that the price was right on the Philips, and more importantly, we were impressed by the picture. As of now, we do not have HD, and are very happy with the picture we receive on our new TV.

Whenever you change channels, the volume is either not loud enough or too loud. Doesn't matter what channel you switch to. Bad volume on this tv

Bought the Philips 40PFL4609 model TV today. Struggled to make it work. To view cable channels, this TV has to be programmed, as one expects with a Smart TV. Autoprogram did not work though I tried 3 times, the third time while on the phone with Philips' Customer Support. Customer Support rep I spoke to was unhelpful, apathetic and sounded too bored to talk to me. He was also ignorant about the connections on the back of this TV. So I called Best Buy from whom I had bought this TV set. Luckily, they were able to tell me that I needed to choose Video as the viewing mode and that I did not even need to autoprogram the TV. Their suggestions worked.
