Rated 4 out of 5 by Manny Great TV but needs more apps for Canada and Mexico
This TV is great but there are very few apps available if you're not in the U.S.
The Wireless Connect does not support Windows 10 or devices for mirroring.
Picture quality is great and sound is pretty good for onboard speakers.
I'm glad I purchased this product. Love Philips

Rated 2 out of 5 by duped software support is in disarray
The picture is great. Netflix works well (except that the volume control disappears). But the list of apps advertised on the Canadian web site is a fiction. Only Netflix and YouTube are available. When I called I was told that if I were to take the TV to the US, I would see the apps. Of course, I like to cross the border every time I watch TV.
Software update over the network claimed that the software was current, even though I subsequently updated via USB. Makes me wonder what other "features" it has.
A little browsing (not on my TV of course) suggests that Philips Smart TV is a product for Europe, not North America.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Macduff Connectivity issues
My internet runs at 34.4MBPS; this "smart" TV has difficulty even finding the network, and when it does, it tests out at (max) 1.8MBPS, and most often at 1.0MBPS or LESS. I have used my laptop to check the network, placing it within 2 inches of the TV, front and back, and the laptop has no trouble hooking up at the full 34.4; so why does this supposedly network enabled TV speed-check at one-thirtieth (less than 4%) of full network speed? Either I've got a bad unit, or the network switcher inside the TV is just badly engineered.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sundar Lousy Customer Support
Bought the Philips 40PFL4609 model TV today. Struggled to make it work. To view cable channels, this TV has to be programmed, as one expects with a Smart TV. Autoprogram did not work though I tried 3 times, the third time while on the phone with Philips' Customer Support. Customer Support rep I spoke to was unhelpful, apathetic and sounded too bored to talk to me. He was also ignorant about the connections on the back of this TV. So I called Best Buy from whom I had bought this TV set. Luckily, they were able to tell me that I needed to choose Video as the viewing mode and that I did not even need to autoprogram the TV. Their suggestions worked.

The picture is decent, voice is decent but whats the point of buying when its just going to last a few months. Tv is not something you buy every day. So my advice go for better brands that at-least provide better customer experience unlike Phillips that just are looking for an excuse to cater warranty.
Cheap brands cheap service. Success of a brand lays in customer loyalty but unfortunately with this kind of customer support, I won't recommend to buy Phillips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KittyBooBoo An all around great t.v....
So far I've had this set for a few days and all in all I am fairly impressed. Is this top of the line best of the best? Maybe not but it suits my needs fairly well and for the value this is it. The picture is very clear and easy to customize to your individual taste. I did notice while playing a standard dvd a night scene seemed a little grainy but it could have been the dvd. Blu ray is absolutely stunning in all aspects sound, picture it is simply the best. I noticed in the store that most t.v.'s had a glossy look to the screen that reflected everything. This Philips has a slight matte finish that didn't show nearly the glare the others did. Setup was a breeze and all internet functions are cinch to use. Any apps that may be lacking are easily found on my Xbox so I'm not sweating that like some people might. I got this t.v. for a steal and I am seriously hoping for many years ahead of trouble free service. I use to think anything above 42-44 inches was just too much now I believe 55 inches is perfect, it's nice to indulge a little or a lot.
