My girlfriend brought it home for me. She remembered very well that I was on the hunt for new really good sounding speaker in my price range. I am very impressed of the quality in the thickness of the sound this little speaker thumps out. : - )

This Phillip sound bar was working fine and now it cuts out a lot and I have to play with the remote to get it back on. I think it's only a matter of time before it quits all together. Why can't they makes stuff last longer. Disappointed.
I guess since I had it for 2 years I can't complain after reading some of the reviews.

As some other reviews have said, this bar tends to die after a few months. It worked fine for me and i was happy with it but after 6-10 months the sound began cutting out and cracking. Initially it was only the optical input but it spread to all inputs quickly making it utterly useless so this can't be recommended

Couple of days ago I bought Philips HTL2160/F7. Product is overall quite nice, especially considering the price. Biggest issue is that remote control didn't work at all until I added a small piece of metal (solder wire for best conductivity) between the standard AAA battery and remote's contact wires - apparently battery that this remote is intended to work with is not long enough.
It took me some time to realize that this was the issue and apply the easy fix, but most of the people wouldn't bother.
Shearing this as there might be other people with the same issue that don't want to waste additional time by replacing / returning the product.

I discovered this nice sounding device included no way of connecting it to my Philips smart TV.
I have purchased 3 different cord types and none of them will work
I guess it needs a male to male USB cord but *those* are very hard to find! So far my device has only been hooked up via Bluetooth to my smart phone. That's it. And I am disappointed.

When we set it up, it was awesome. Looked great, easy to set up, and full of rich sound. The virtual surround was a little too wierd, but we turned that off. After almost 4 months, however, it just stopped working. The lights came on and it looked to be operational . . . but no sound! We checked our connections and cables and everything was in order. It was a wedding gift, so we did not lose any money on it. But we are said to have it useless so soon.

The product needs a digital coax cable. I spent two hours on the phone with Philips support only to figure out on my own that the cable I was using was an improper analog cable. A quick trip to Radio schack and I was able to get it working. It would have been really helpful to have the cable to connect the sound bar to the TV in the box or some labeling that tells you that it is NOT included and I could have purchased it right then and there and avoided all the hassle I went through today. I do like the TV and the sound system.
