This is my second machine. I like the design of the machine (love the drawer) and I like quality of espresso, although the froth is inconsistent. Not a problem for me because I always use warm milk, or steamed froth milk. Gripe: the steam arm control. My first machine it began to leak after two years. I had it repaired (sending it many miles via UPS) and it lasted another 3 years. The "set" screw had loosened. This machine is now 3 years old and the steam arm is beginning to drip and unless I hold the knob water streams out. If it is just a set screw, let me know how to reset, I am pretty handy. So not sure if I will get another Saeco machine, due to this one flaw.

We have owned this machine now for several years and never had a problem with it! We keep on scheduled decalcification as recommended and the machine has worked as supposed to without issues. Our espressos and the frothing is a lot better than those from starbucks. It makes the perfect cream as long as you follow the recommendations and use suitable milk. Of course, there is a personal trick to it and it takes time to get there. We totally love this machine!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Darrylv Via Venezia is poorly made
For the first few months we were happy with the espresso and caffe lattes we made with this machine. Then, the knob one uses for steaming milk broke--essentially the connection stripped. After waiting over a month for it to be fixed (apparently due to unavailability of a replacement knob) we began to use it again. The same problem recurred a few months later. We had it fixed again and it is happening again! I cannot recommend this product due to this poor reliability.

Easy to use. For the average aficionados this machine is plenty and makes DYI espressos as easy as they'll get. Mine had an issue and the warranty fixed it in half the estimated time. I'm very pleased with my machine. Love the dual spouts for making two at a time.

I have had this machine for over 10 years and it has worked flawlessly. It pours perfect shots and will froth cold milk in under a minute. This machine is as dependable as you can ask for with a reasonable price to get you started. Build quality is outstanding and sturdy. It survived 3 moves, no issues, just plug it in and draw shots.

I have been using this machine for over 4 years, and it still works great!
I worked at a high end restaurant for many years as a bartender and ran a $50,000 espresso machine that didn't make espresso better than this little beauty.
Espresso/Frother: The espresso pulls are prefect and crema outstanding. The steam heats up quickly and lasts; the wand works great.
Design/Build: This machine comes in an all-metal housing and is incredibly sturdy. I'm not sure what other reviewers are talking about with respect to cheap parts or design, because this machine looks and feels very high end.
You will NOT be disappointed by this machine.

I used the Barista and its predecessor for 20 years -- great crema on the espresso and perfect frothing of milk. Don't expect to get the same crema with the Via Venezia and frothing is completely different. If you are trying to reach 160 degrees, I find that it addes too much steam (and water) resulting in diluted steamed milk.
