Rated 2 out of 5 by BMor Very Disappointed
Not happy with end result of shave. My beard is not that heavy, but after a couple of hours I can feel and see my beard. Using a blade is much closer experiance especially if you haven't shaved for a couple of days.

I have own this type of razor for over 20 years always work great, my only complaint is the travel carrying case that should be a hard case to protect the razor which was on previous model at least it should be optional very disappointed on this side.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Gord Worst shaver I've ever used
I've had this shaver for a couple of years now, and it is the worst shaver I've ever used. I've owned two other Philips shavers before, and they were both very good. They were lower models, so I thought getting the flagship Philips shaver would be even better. I was wrong.
The shave is not very close. I have a hard time getting a clean shave.
You can only use Philips cleaning solution in the cleaning unit. If you try to use anything else, like alcohol, it just won't work.
Battery life started off good, but deteriorates quickly. I now can only charge it to a maximum of 45 mins use. Philips support says it's normal and is "learning" battery life based on my usage pattern. Also, the charger is not very travel friendly.
Worst part is - the hair trimmings leak out all over the place. I spent the first 6 months of owning this device working with Philips customer service trying to figure out how to fix it. I got 3 different replacements, tried many different fixes, but nothing helped. I have come to the conclusion that this is not a defect, but is poor design. There are holes in the shaver heads that are meant to allow water to drain, but the trimmings come out from them easily.
The good part is - their customer service is awesome to deal with. First class support.

Rated 4 out of 5 by RAK73 Finally a great shave
I have had the RQ1280for over a year and was not really happy with the shaving results. Got a new head and still not great. I recently tried shaving with Neutrogena shave cream and wow - what a difference. Shaves as close as a blade, very smooth. It would be handier to clean with the old type fold out head but I now get outstanding close shaves.
This shave cream is non foaming & is excellent with this shaver.

Using this good designed series 9000 shaver for over a year now. its really easy to use. Looks very flexible but not really, i wish bit more. Becomes hot within 3-4 mins and you are really gonna feel it. which irritates me a bit. I wish there are more stuff on the display....like when you washed the unit last time, date and time etc.
One more thing i noticed When shaving under chin my skin got stuck couple of times and it's painful. I really take time while I shave and trying to follow all the instructions but still missing something. Not feeling that i am using a great product!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by granddad10 Fantastic shaver
I have been using the series 9000 shaver for several months now. Prior to purchasing this razor I was using the blades. I was really impressed by the close shave and easy use of this razor. Don't have to stand in front of the mirror any more. Thanks to this rechargeable razor I can have a great and relaxing shave watching TV or having my morning coffee. I have purchased another one to use for traveling as I live in a camp for 10 days and home for 4 days.
If any one is looking to purchase a new razor they should get the the Phillips 9000 series. After 50 years of shaving and trying other brands this is the one for me.
Happy, Happy, Happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MeanJoe Excellent Product!
First shave with this unit was the best, smoothest and least irritating shave I have ever experienced. If this continues, kudos to the folk at Philips!
A bit pricey, but ya get whatcha pay for.
