When ever the DVD players play its ok. But the connector that goes between both screens is such a garbage piece of equipment. I have had two sets of these bought through Walmart and within 2 weeks of owning each the cords tip was loose and the connection became worse and worse. But I couldn't return to Walmart because of their 2 week return policy. I never sent it back because I didn't have the box or information.
I don't know the type of cord but if I could get another I'd try a not so cheaply made one

I bought this unit and immediately ditched the DVD unit, Lol. I use the slave screen's video in as a First person view monitor and it works great!

Nice looking, easy to use. The problem is that the two units need separate power. So, Phillips provides you with a dual headed car charger adapter. Great, but what about those of us who travel on trains, where there is a standard 120 V outlet? Phillips provides a 120 V adapter, but it only has one head to connect to the unit(s). That means you can't run two screens in the train. Sure, I can gerry-rig a way around this by carrying a - fairly large - 120 V to 12 V step down and then use the car charger, but come on... This is a big company, and they could provide a simple thing like a 2 headed 120 V adapter. Portable and travel doesn't just mean you're in a car.

I am disappointed in this product. We purchased this portable DVD player for a long road trip (26 hours in total) with our 3 kids. It only lasted the first week - and only up to 5 movies, as we didn't turn it on often.
I was sent a replacement unit. On our next road trip, we set it up in the car and it worked great on the way to our destination. On the way back, it did not. Again, in the car for over 8 hours with 3 small children.
Overall, we viewed MAYBE 8 movies on it.

We used this product for one family vacation. The DVD player/screens worked ok, but the metal tip of the adaptor fell out on multiple occasions. Luckily we found it the first couple of times. The last time it fell out, we were out of luck.
We went back to Best Buy, where were we were told the product was being recalled. I was happy that it seemed Philips had addressed a need when it came up.
The online chat support informed me that there was not a recall for this product, and that I would have to pay to have the part replaced. When I looked at other reviews it became clear that this isn't the first time Philips has been notified of this problem. I am now currently waiting for a return call from management. At this time I cannot recommend purchasing a Philips product based on my experience.

I've only had this product for two months and the spindle that holds the DVD in place, spun off and broke. This is a cheap product/brand and I will never purchase Philips products again.

Talked with customer service after on hold for 22 min. His is the second time I have had to get a replacement for the metal tip in the very end of the car adapter. It keeps falling off when removed and cannot find it!! Is this a recall problem?? TVA are great and I have had several different brands of DVD and this is the most superior brand. HOWEVER! Please stand by your products on a simple fix- send the 1 oz part to your customers when the adapter design is faulty. I cannot use the DVDs at all!

You will find best customer support from Philips in United States. Buy the Philips product with them and they will help you until your problem not resolved.
