Troubleshooting

There is some water in the coffee grounds container of my Seaco GranBaristo

This is related to the settings of your machine and type of brewed coffee. It does not directly point to a defect. Read along for possible causes.

At first-time use

The first 2-3 times you brew coffee, the auto-dosing system is still adapting. Brew some cups of coffee to allow the machine to adjust itself.

During regular use

  • When you brew a “low pressure product” like an Americano, Café Crema, Coffee, Classic Coffee. The consistency of the coffee pucks will always be wet and more water is visible in the coffee ground container.
  • When you switch to a different blend of coffee beans or adjust the grinder setting. Brew some cups of coffee to allow the machine to adjust itself.
  • After the automatic rinse/cleaning cycle some water ends up in the coffee ground container.

Changing machine settings

When you change the settings on your machine, this will influence the taste of your coffee and the consistency of the coffee puck.

Try different settings to create your preferred coffee taste. For example, change the grinder settings (finer) or the coffee volume (less) a little and try again.

  • A coarse grind setting leads to less strong coffee and a waterier coffee puck.
  • A higher coffee volume leads to less strong coffee and a waterier coffee puck.
  • A lighter aroma setting leads to a waterier coffee puck.
