Very hard to clean bladesI've had Norelco shavers for over 50 years! I bought this new one rather than just replacement blades when my other one got old. This is by far the most cumbersome razor to clean. Each round blade and screen is held in by individual orange plastic rings. Very difficult to put back together - screen, blade then orange ring. Why can't they make a 'lock' for the blades like the old razor --- it just fit over all 3 and with one easy turn, locked it in place. Poor design Norelco.... I'm unsatisfied!

Close shave so far but design problems - IMOI am an architect, so design is my scene, and I have used Norelco Philips shavers since I started shaving in 1976. I don't have a heavy growth so they usually work fine for me. I replaced an older 4000 style unit with this 9300 &, so far, I am very unimpressed after one week of use. The shave is fine but that's about where it stops. The "Smart Cleaning" system which came with it is a joke and takes hours to complete its cycle. Worst of all however is the design of the body of the unit itself. It looks nice but it is not ergonomic when it comes to holding it with a hand. My 4000 series is shaped to fit a hand naturally and works with ease when shaving. The 9300 is angular and does not fit my hand well at all. While I am shaving my thumb ends up resting on the on/off button & often, I switch the shaver off by accident while I am using it. I wonder how they came up with such a poor design for the grip. For me, it does not feel comfortable or natural at all to hold and I am not happy with this expensive unit. It is also much more bulky than my former unit with a bigger hard case which is a problem for me too as I travel a lot. There were no open samples in the store for me to see when I bought it and I am probably going to return it as I think it is certainly not worth what I paid. Close shave so far but, I think, a poorly conceived and flawed design.

Quick smooth shavePhilips gave me the opportunity to try the Philips Series 9000 Wet and Dry shaver and I am very impressed.
The package comes with complete with charger, cleaning station/charger, shaver, trimmer attachment, and carrying case. The shaver needed to be plugged in for about an hour to be fully charged. I never used the shaver in the shower so I can’t say how it would operate wet but I was impressed with the dry shave. The heads float nicely and have a lot of pivot to curve around the jawline and mouth. The blades were sharp and gave me a very smooth shave. The shaver has 3 speed settings for different days growth.
The shaver comes with the automatic cleaning station/charger. It is very simple, just insert the cleaning fluid and drop the shaver in after use. It does a decent job of cleaning the shaver and the cleaning solution gets the shaver to smell “fresh and clean”. The cleaning cycle takes a good 2-3 hours. Instructions state that the cleaning solution should be changed every 3 months. I wouldn’t say the cleaning base is a necessity as the shaver can be cleaned easy by removing the heads and rinsing it under the faucet. Overall I am very pleased with this shaver as it doesn’t pull any hairs and gives a nice smooth shave in a very short amount of time.

Modern Shaver, Different ExperienceI received the Philips Shaver to review and I really like it. The design of the shaver is unique and modern and It works great. It is a very fast shaver and it gives me the closest smoothest shave that I have ever experienced and also the charge of battery lasts for a long time. I can move fairly quickly over my face within different angles . It has a very convenient-automatic cleaning system that I can clean it just in seconds. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality electric shaver.

This shaver does a real good job!I have used this shaver for less than a year. I love how close it shaves! However, it has gotten to the point that I have to put the head back on the shaver up to 5 times while I shave only 1 time. I am so aggravated at it that I would not recommend this shaver to anyone. I am sure there are shaver made that can shave as close as this one does without the aggravation!

Great design, good performanceI received the Philips Shaver to review and I loved it. The Philips Series 9000 is quiet, light and effortless, while also achieving a very close smooth finish. First of all the design is amazing, and handling the shaver is super easy and comfortable while shaving, so the design of the shaver is really a big advantage. The three circular blades looks more advanced than the older models, and they do a great job shaving to a smooth finish, but I found that it can’t shave all the hair in one shot, you need to go back and forth couple times to get a smooth finish. Also, the flexible head while shaving did a great job shaving all the areas of the face as it can go along all the face contour. The most thing I loved about this shaver is that it has many operating levels, low, medium and high, according to your needs. Cleaning the shaver is easy especially when using the solution that comes with it, I recommend to clean it right after you finish shaving because it would be much easier. Also being able to shave while you’re showering is a big advantage as it could save you time and effort, but of course shaving on a dry skin results in a smoother finish. One thing made this philips shaver more advanced than the others is its noise, it’s not noisy at all, very quiet and doesn’t have that bzzz sound. All in all I loved this shaver, the design is great, the performance is good but it could be better and charging the shaver is super easy and convenient. I gave it 4 stars not 5 just because it doesn’t give you a smooth finish from one shave.

Quite Razor with Loud ResultsPhilips gave me the opportunity to try their latest razor and it did not disappoint. It was the quiestest razor that I have ever used in 40 years of shaving. The multi-way worked well together to give all my face contours a cean-close shave. Very few spots did I need to go over again.
The quick rotating heads did a good job the first time around. Using this razor save me precious time in the morning. In order to use the trimmer, I had to detach the razor heads and attach the trimmer for my sideburns. This was easy enough to do but it a little inconvenient. If you need to use the trimmer daily, you may find it annoying but if you need to use it once a week to upkeep your sideburns, then you won't mind. The all-in-one charger and cleaning stand did a great job to keep this razor performing like new. My old razor didn't have the cleaning stand and I feel it would have performed better if it did. This shaver makes me feel good about shaving every morning. I do wish, however, that there was a plastic head protector to protect my investment. If I want to take only the razor without the cord or stand on a short weekend trip, I would hate for the heads to be damaged. All in all, this is one of the best razors I have ever used.

Quiet, Close Shave and Long Battery LifeI received the Philips Shaver to review and I'm really happy that I did. I've been using this shaver for a couple of weeks and the most impressive features in my mind are the long battery life and how quietly it operates relative to my old shaver.
The paperwork that came in the box references 50 minutes of cordless shaving, but my experience has indicated that this shaver will likely last well beyond that. After more than a week of 5 minute plus shaves, it had gone from 5 bars to 4, and held steady.
I used the shaver wet and dry, and found that it delivered a close shave in both cases. With less than 4 days of facial hair growth it worked very well. Over 4 days of growth and it struggles with longer hair. I was able to use the included trimmer followed by the shaver and found that worked quite well. I trust that with more practice it will be even better.
The shaver runs in 3 different modes, all of which worked well. As a user, you may not notice much of a difference apart from a bit more noise as you select the higher modes.
Once I was finished shaving, the on screen reminder to rinse was a nice feature, and I found the razor head cleans very well if you follow the directions in the manual. After a week or so the oil from my face began to build up a little bit, and although the rinse worked well, a few hairs would remain in some of the harder to clean areas. After running the shaver through the self clean function, all of the hairs were gone, and the oily appearance disappeared which allowed me to go back to rinsing only with great results.
