Kitchen Clock Radio

The radio and cd player just keep on going. We are upgrading our kitchen cabinets and hope to move the player to the new cabinets

As I prepare to reattach our Philips clock radio/cd player to our new kitchen cabinets we installed, I went looking for a copy of the screw template and came across these reviews. I had to write about our experience. This unit has been a workhorse for us for I know what has been more than 10 years. We listen to it daily, it's on while I work. We leave it on for the dogs when we leave the house. I still have the remote. The sound is booming, LED panel bright, and everything works. It is probably the one electronic device that we have not replaced in our home over its life span.

Suddenly for no apparent reason the radio has begun shutting down and starting up when turned off, On one recent occasion during the night. I had to unplug the unit to prevent this from happening again. Since it is a discontinued product I have not been able to obtain any trouble shopping help from the Phillips phone numbers. I would like to know the cause and what can be done about this problem.

Unit stopped working just out of warranty .When I called in the said there was nothing they can do they even stopped making them ,No repair facilities available poor quality

Do not buy. There is no reason for this radio to have stopped working. It did not get a whole lot of use and was installed in a location that was nowhere near a heat source or somewhere that might cause damage to the unit. Remote stopped working within 6 months, the unit's power button started acting odd after 1 year. After almost 2 years, it does not work at all.

My experience was the same as the other review. The radio had a lot of static but I used it mostly for cd's. However, after about a 1 1/2 years it just stopped working.

I recieved this as a wedding gift after installing it it was always very staticy even when playing a cd. For this reason i hardly used it. But was still nice to have music in the kitcen. About 14 months into owning it itstopped powering on we tried changing the battery and unplugging it but nothing has worked. So for the past year it has hung in my kitchen useless. I dont recomend this radio poor quality and sort life not worth the price. The disign concept is good and it is nice looking which makes it a shame that it does not work.
