Philips AventAnti-colic nipple

I have 9 month old twins and the Anticolic bottle with variable flow nipples from Phillips Avent have been SO helpful. The twins eat differently then each other, one prefers a slower nipple and the other faster; before, I'd have to label which nipple was for which baby - it was a lot of work/time consuming and sometimes the twins would accidentally get the wrong nipple leading to frustration on everyone part. The variable nipple takes care of that and is able to accommodate both babies easily. The twins took the nipple easily. These nipples did not collapse allowing for uninterrupted feeding, as well. Another big perk! Another perk - less gas. The twins used to get very bad gas after eating and that seems to have gone away after switching bottles. I received these nipples to try for free WeeSpring parent panel but have since purchased more.

I received these items as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I have been using a different brand of bottle to help with my son's difficulty with gas. I was not expecting such positive results from the Avent bottle and nipples. My son did not experience an increase in gas when I trialed the Avent bottle. Although the nipple shape is different, than the nipples he was using previously, he adjusted almost immediately. The most wonderful thing about the Avent bottle is how easy it is to clean. No more need for different sized bottle brushes to clean multiple bottle parts. I wish I had tried these first as it would have saved me so much money. The only negative for me was the nipples do cost more than the ones I was using previously.

We received the Philips Avent Variable Flow Nipples to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. My daughter doesn’t normally care for bottles, but she drank 2 ounces of milk from this one! We were able to turn the bottle and change the flow when she got frustrated or seemed to be having trouble. It was nice to be able to switch the flow so easily and without making a mess! I plan to use these for every feeding now! It also helped with gas and gagging during eating. She usually only nurses, but we needed to find something for daycare. I think this is it! I received the Avent 3 month variable flow nipples and anti colic bottle as part of the Wee Spring Parent Panel, and I Love them! It's pretty convenient to be able to increase or decrease the flow of milk just by turning the bottle. And this is the only nipple/bottle combo that my little girl didn't scream with. She refused to take any bottle or nipple, but she took right to these!

I had to go back to work and dreaded it because it was hard finding a bottle my son would eat from. The only thing I was concerned with was if he would drink from a bottle. The bottle and the nipples are very good quality. We are also able to put rice cereal to keep his tummy a bit more full!1

My 6 month old was the biggest surprise of my life. Raising two wild and wonderful boys felt like the most my husband and I could ever want (or handle) so like a couple of minimalist millennials, we offloaded and gave away as many and as much of our baby items as soon as it was possible. I was given the philips avent anti-colic variable flow nipple to be test out in exchange of my honest opinion thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel. I love the nipple because it has 3 types of flows, 1,2, and 3. As a breastfeeding mom this is super helpful because sometimes the guidelines to which nipple a baby should use don't apply to a breastfed baby. My baby needs a slower flow nipple than the one recommended for his age and with these nipples I just have to turn the bottle to see which flow is good for him. The nipple doesn't have your normal hole in the middle, it's marked by a - cut and depending in which way your baby takes the nipple the opening is smaller or bigger. I like this variable flow nipple.

A product that does what it says! This is an innovative, unique, easy to use nipple. Very easy to see how to position the nipple to get different rates of flow with hash marks on the side of the nipple. My son is 3 months old and has been taking a bottle for about a month. He has been on a very slow flow nipple and not yet ready to jump to the next flow, but with this nipple I was able to let him work on adjusting to a faster flow of milk but quickly rotate the bottle to slow the flow if he needed a break without having to change the nipple off the bottle to a different one, which frankly does not make a hungry baby very happy! Also very easy to clean...a lot of interesting baby gadgets are hard to clean which makes me less likely to use them honestly. My son adjusted very easily to this new nipple style and can do level 1 and 2 flow of the 3 mo size nipple. He burped after feeding which is normal for him but did not spit up after using it several times, which he usually does about 50% of the time so I do think it reduces gas in a baby's tummy. I was given this product to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. My baby is now about 3.5 months and I received this product when she hit 3 months. She has been almost exclusively breastfed and since I have returned to work we have been having a really difficult time with getting her to take the bottle. She definitely did not like the level 3 on this nipple, and starting choking and sputtering on it. Level 2 was still too fast and level 1 was better, but in the end she still refused this nipple. I think it is a really great design so that parents like me can try all 3 flow rates in one nipple without buying a bunch of nipples. However, I can see the flow becoming inconsistent for babies requiring a very slow flow nipple. My older daughter was a preemie who needed ultra preemie nipples and this would not be a product for those kind of babies. My baby does not tend to have colic/gas so I cannot speak for that, but I liked that the bottle does not leak when you don't use the anti-gas attachment. There are other brands where it leaks if you use the option of not using the anti-colic insert.

I received these nipples as a gift from the weeSpring Parent Panel. My baby is breastfed and we are trying to transition her to bottles as well, so when I received this product, I was excited. It's always a battle to get a breastfed baby to transition, so I was hopeful this product would work for her. I did not notice her spitting up or having any reflux issues, which I was also concerned would happen. I also noticed she did not spit up or choke on the milk. She was born premature, so I was also concerned the flow would be too much for her, but she easily latched to this bottle and nipple and drank away. I also liked that you can get a pack of 4, since using bottles, you have to constantly wash and sanitize bottles and buying only 2 at a time really isn't enough. So far she's loving this product, so I will continue to purchase this brand.
