Rated 5 out of 5 by rytrail Excellent Blu Ray Player
I purchased this 4k blu ray player to replace a competitors defective player. This player is easy to use and I have not had the issues similar to the competitors defective player. I recommend this product. Only weakness is the total lack of online apps, but for me I just use one of the various streaming boxes available.

Rated 3 out of 5 by nicnic UHD Player Lacks Amazon Video App
A generally very good UHD player that works as advertised. NetFlix is nice but that and YouTube are the only HDR 10 apps on the Player. Not including the other main HDR 10 streaming App Amazon. makes the Philips less competitive against the other UHD Players that include more HDR 10 apps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ermaho2 Good, but not 100%
This player was a breeze to set up. It's probably the easiest I've ever encountered. The picture seems to be quite good, but it is not in point clear. It certainly is better than an op convert Blu-ray, but the super sharp is missing One thing I have to say is finally a company has provided a really usable remote. Just the right size, well laid out and easy to use. The only real negative I had to say is that Phillips should really try to provide more apps than simply Netflix and YouTube. I know they don't advertise it as "smart" but they could give us a few more than just the two. Otherwise it is a good, not great, but and certainly your best bang for the buck that's currently on the market. By the way, thank you Phillips for providing the proper cables. That's a rarity!

Whoever thought it was a good idea to put white type on a pale blue background. The settings menu is unusable. Please consider a redesign. Otherwise it plays well and was easy to install

How can I best express my appreciation of this wonderful machine that takes full advantage of my new UHDTV with HDR. Did one update Philips BDP7501 did the rest. It recongnizes 4K HDR immdiately. Presents it beautifully. Honestly thought all this talk about HDR making big difference with 4K. Thought it was all hype. I was gleefully mistaken. Put in Star Trek into darkness. It was like watching a new movie. Colors were spectacular. Sharpness detail incredible. I'm converted. Now finally in love with this machine and my 4K tv. Oh please only thing it could possibly be a better device if it streamed a few more apps please. ( consider vudu , amozan) greatly appreciate if you guys would. But it does what I paid for which is play a UHDBLU RAY DISC to the best quality possible. Oh before I forget been watching my bluray collection over again because this machine makes them look absolutely amazing. Please if on the fence try this machine make sure you perform initial update and then let it do its magic. Mind you I tried another player prior to this found it complicated to get it going. Connect , download initial update ,( just like when you buy a smart tv) connect HDMI2.0 cable. Did I mention they include cable. Press play your done. Thank you Philips for making this easy.
Sincerely yours ,
PS proud owner.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jrad No Dolby Vision
This is just like another 4k player. No Dolby Vision only HDR-10.
I'll wait for a player with both HDR formats, since DV is a much better format and not static like HDR-10.
Save a few dollars by not adding DV and drive away knowledgeable customers.
