5500 series HD LED Android TV

First Smart tv so lots of new capabilities. Seeing a show I regularly stream on the bigger screen was a wow! moment. Not expensive!

Compare to other TCL and Hisense 32 inch Smart TV at 720p. The difference is as follow: (1) Philips has bluetooth, the other two don't have. (2) Sound setting has 5 bands equalizer and Sound style, the other two haven't 5 bands. All three have surround sound and sound effect, the naming from Philips is more official in sound styles, such as Movie, News, Music, Sports, ... etc. That easy to understand what sound effect for what video streaming. (3) The panel is 720p, but the input signal can support up to 1080p. The major difference is fonts, using Computer as 1920x1080p, the fonts is unclear, other icon is fine, so 1920x1080, then 125% scale up the fonts will be fine. Youtube is receiving 1080p setting in Auto. The Android Home Display is 720p resolution, but the video streaming is using 1080p. For movie, the quality is 95% of 1080p and 125% of 720p. Hard to see the difference when I compare it to my 1080p computer monitor when they both play 1080p video file at the same time and at side by side. So, higher than 720p and almost the same as 1080p. (4) No lack on Wireless AC 2x2. I am using Linksys Range Extender from Linksys Router. Receiving the first buffer from youtube is similar to my laptop, so it has similar performance as my laptop Wireless AC. (5) From youtube, some user use File Commander to download and install Google Chrome for Internet Browser. It works but it will not add icon on Apps Menu. Therefore, everytime has to "go to setting -> App -> Chrome -> Open" to start Google Chrome. (6) Because it is Android TV, after installing File Commander, user can access local storage. If user has question about Sound Quality, then I think Philips has more concern to provide more options for Sound Setting than other two brands. Because Philips had long history since from CD music digital format, DVD, ... etc. These 5 bands are prepared for serious user to tune two built in speaker for decent sound.

I love Phillips TVs they last for years! I love the Google assist.

I love my recent purchase! My 43” android tv has all I want and then some! Looking forward to more upcoming purchases!

I gave 5 stars because of the Sales Experience Associates at Walmart who knew what I was looking for in a new TV. That's why I bought it, in the future I will definitely be buying another one in the near future. Most likely a '75'. Keep up the great work and quality products you produce.

2 years exactly after the purchase the tv don't work with notification the device has called verification. System halted. The update is 900mo and the devise dont have this space. Is it the planned obsolescence? If so I will never buy again a Philips product. I tried the help he said you cannot do anything to help?

Bought tv to replace 32 inch tv that died. The back of the tv is not flat so now the stupid wall mount is visible on top about 6 inches.

Do not buy this TV poor quality broke stuck on Phillips upload screen. Customer care response take to TV repair. Only used the tv maybe 10 times not even 2 years old and broken do not waste your money
