Series 5500Fully automatic espresso machine

The Philips 5500 Series EP5544/90 is an outstanding fully automatic espresso machine. It's incredibly easy to use, makes excellent coffee, and has exceeded our expectations. We're very happy with our purchase and highly recommend it.

The unit seems to be well made, the different drinks that we frequent are consistent and tasty. Moving forward I guess we will see if the machine can withstand the demand of our family of three.

I love this super automatic machine. Easy to use and makes wonderful latte and cappuccino. Really easy to clean, its the best if your lazy and dont like spending lots of time dealing with the milk frothing system. Nice to push a button that says cappuccino and then a cappuccino comes out

I would rate it as a solid 4 1/2 stars. We are very, very happy with this espresso machine. Pros: Sound level, menu/selections, Latte-Go system, ease of cleaning, space on kitchen counter, 4 profiles, hot-water, smoothness of espresso..., can add an extra shot... Middling (Ok, but could be better): No option to get a bigger cup, we run 2 cycles to get our lattes, used grounds bin could be bigger and not trigger as many false positive "full" errors... sometimes after only one cup..., water level marker on bin not easy to see, I added 2 sharpie lines tinted bean cover makes it hard to see (usual location would be under a kitchen cabinet) if you are getting low and you end up relying on the error prompt. The beans do not slide down without coaxing, should be redesigned. The Latte-Go container could have a larger base, so it would feel less tipsy in the fridge. The tray that holds your cup should have a small bump-out because the Latte-Go dispenser makes you put your cup on the edge. Cons: Website to register the product in included leaflet does not work... layout of printed documentation and QR-codes should be simpler. We have used the machine everyday since it came in and have added water everyday, beans about 2-3 times a week and milk usually twice a day; I empty the grounds at least once a day, and the tray as well. I have received 'false positive' "grounds bin needs emptying", the tray under the cup holder can get quite full, and care is needed if you have a distance to the sink. None of the cons or could be better items are show stoppers for us, we have no hesitations in recommending the machine; the extra years of warranty when registering are a nice touch, and make you feel a bit confident of the purchase.

Excellent machine, best coffee production. Your beans matter but your machines ability to process your beans matters more. Such incredible features. Variety is amazing. Wonderful to be able to wow guests with quality, unique at home coffees, and always consistent high quality

Very pleased with operation of the machine. My wife likes ice coffee, its easy to use Decaf. At night the hot water feature is great for a single cup of Tea. Like the rinse feature to keep the nozzel clean. How to use online videos were essential to learn how to use. The availability of kits on Amazon to maintain is useful.

After owning a number of similar products we have found this machine to fit our needs perfectly.

Works as specifed, makes great coffe and above all looks great

I love my 5500! I can enjoy delicious espressos and my husband can make his fancy coffees!
