Portable DVD Player

This product is fantastic!! I have had others in the past but this dual screen dual disc DVD player is amazing!!! The kids can watch different movies with their headphones it's great!!

We have had these players for several years (3-4) and enjoyed them immensely. Many long road trip with the kids. These have two great features which are hard to find. 1. They are DUAL PLAYERS, not just DUAL SCREENS. This works great for different age groups/interest levels. My 3 daughters often have 2 different movies on. The one who is watching alone can use a headset while the volume can be turned up on the other. Even when they want to watch the same we can load 2 movies and when one is over quickly switch over. This was very helpful when they were younger and could not reach the controls themselves. The other great feature is that it pauses and remembers where the movie is when you turn off the vehicle. This makes running errands with the kids a breeze. My only complaint this that these are near impossible to find. No one makes players with these features. We have had other portable DVD players and these are the best. Great Features and long lasting. We need to replace one and I would be happy to buy a new set, but having trouble finding them anywhere-- Phillips really should get this product back in stores. I have recommended this to friends over the years as well, and again, many have trouble finding the product.

After buying the players, I used them for the first time after having then for six months. one unit started pausing after is had played about half hour. Then it got where it would not load. Called Phillips, they replaced it. The replacement works ok. The second unit of the pair worked ok. I would recommend them and give Phillips a grade of A+ for their response. Frank B.

Overall the product is functional and has a really nice viewing screen.

I have just received this product as a replacement for a similar/exact model that had a power shortage in the car causing a burn on the person pulling the plug. I highly recommend BEST BUY'S protection plan as they replaced it with a new unit with no problems. We only had the other unit for about 8 months. This is the 3rd DVD player we have had because of similar difficulties with shorts and malfunctions, hence the reason that I suggest purchasing the extended warranty that companies offer.

Dvd player didnt hold up. Started having issues charging after 3 months of use. Dvd door doesnt stay shut all the time either.

I have bought 2 sets of these in the past 3 years (my ignorance) and they both have only worked for one road trip, I stored them in original packaging in the house. The first set stopped reading DVD's and the second set has sound but no picture. I called Philips and they suggested paying to get them repaired. I am not spending anymore money on these units. I feel they should work more than one use. VERY DISAPPOINTED! Clearly they are a bad design and have a manufacture error. I believe these units should be recalled, and money refunded. Philips has horrible customer service, they need to repair these themselves or replace the product all together!

I owned the first set for less than a year when one player stopped working. The second set was covered under my Best Buy warranty and stopped working right at a year. Called Philips and they were no help whatsoever! Sad they don't stand behind their product!
