Saeco OdeaSuper-automatic espresso machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this machine for over 10 years. We maintain it per the manual and have had no problems with it. We make 6 batches of coffee almost daily. Before we bought this machine we made our espresso with the stove top, screw-together steamer type and another electric machine that did not have the pump pressure rating of this one. When the electric switch broke on it, we bought this one This machine makes great espresso! The website is informative and easy to navigate. If we ever need another machine it's going to be a Philips Saeco, period.

I purchased this espresso machine in May 2011 (yes, five years ago!) and it has worked well for me. I am a daily latte drinker and the Odea makes it easy to brew a great espresso, steam my own milk and add hot water to make it an americano if I wish. As other reviewers state, the machine can be a bit loud in the mornings during the few seconds it takes to grind the beans. Cleaning and maintenance is easy, with easy removal and replacing the key parts and easy descaling. It was definitely worth the price!

I received this as a Christmas present and love the ease of the machine! Just remember to read the instructions, and have patients while your perfect cup brews! The first few cups will not be great, so discard them and keep on brewing. I love the design of the machine as it is easy to use as well as easy to clean with the swivel option. Yes this machine as with any machine it a bit noisy, but think of the noise in a coffee bar, it's temporary while your cup brews. I couldn't be happier with my husband's choice in espresso machines! I kind of brag about my machine to friends and coworkers. They are jealous of the ease of my machine. But coworker don't mind too much since I bring a thermos to share with them.

I will start with the fact that this machine makes a great tasting espresso. I usually have lattes and with this machine I make them as good as many fine restaurants. This machine is very easy to use. The bad part of this machine is the grinder. I have babied this machine and maintained as the manual says. I have used the appropriate beans. This has not stopped the grinder from breaking on me. Twice. I first sent my Odea in around February of this year (3 months after taking it out of the box.). Customer service was very nice and the machine came back working properly about 2 weeks later. The grinder broke again In July of this year. Customer service was again very nice and I sent my Odea back in for repairs. I am hoping this will be the last time because I love everything else about this machine.
