A letter "cF" appears in the right-hand corner of the screen and my Philips TV does not respond to the remote control

On the TV controls, press [Volume minus] key for five seconds and then press [Channel minus] key for five seconds. Now the letter “cF” will disappear from your screen and your TV will respond to the remote control.
