This TV excelled above its competitors in its day.

I see a lot of reviews from 2012... I bought this TV in 2010. It's been a really good 9 years. This TV went to college with me. Traveled around. Moved. It has always performed well, with a phenomenal picture. This TV has seen the use of PS2, PS4, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, Switch... I've used this TV almost every single day for minimum 3 hours a day. I've seen so many other friends and family replace their TVs multiple times by now. I will continue using this TV until it finally dies one day. As of now, It's running as perfectly as the day I bought it. Philips makes a phenomenal product.

Have had this TV for nearly 10 years. Picture is clear as the first day. Made change to larger unit with smart features. This moved to another room in the house and is still in use.

The picture quality is great. I get an echo if I use the volume on the TV along with my "top of the line" surround sound system but overall it's great. The remote control is hard to see in low light conditions but I seldom use it except for on/off so that's not a huge negative.

I was shopping around for a nice performing flatscreen. While researching I stumbled on this tv. Did some research on it and it stood out well with good performance specs. I looked at the price and it was MUCH cheaper than other flatscreens with the same performance. I got mine through Walmart set it up, and it amazed me! The screen resolution and the sharpness are out of this world! The tv out performs any other tv in the price range. This TV is the BEST deal out there! Highly Recommended!!!

This was my first hd t.v. and it has been great. My family has had hd tv's but none have compared to this set. Its sound quality is great and the picture is awesome. I have not had any issues with this t.v.

I got this tv because of the price and the quality. The 240 hz tv are not widely available and too see this show up at the low price i got it....is amazing. The picture quality is very impressive, the sound is also. Gaming.......I will just say outstanding and fast. The Gaming and tv shows never miss a beat with the tv being able to keep up with all the super fast stuff with ease. I have a friend who has a 46 of another brand and he likes this more then his tv, his kids love the gaming also so he is looking to get one. I am not sure how many people use HDMI cables with the tv but thats all i do use (It makes a huge difference in picture, sound and gaming). I am using HDMI 1440 cables and i can guarantee if you use these cables, you will be impressed. I am playing battlefield 3 and the graphics are impressive and dont miss a beat and the sound if great. I cannot mention enough......use the HDMI 1440 cables with this tv. The HDMI are digital cables which gives you the best signal from the cable box and also from an xbox. The blue,green and yellow cables are only analog signal and does not give you the picture and sound the tv can produce. The tv is a digital TV, use the HDMI digital cables with it. I use all HDMI 1440 cables for my cable box, my Xbox and my Laptop to connect to my TV and so far everybody that has seen it, is getting one of these tv's because they are so impressed with it. Two friends of mine sell tv's also and they are buying it.

Picture is good but sound is a little tingy. Setup is easy.

I purchased a Philips 40" LCD TV for the bedroom. The TV has a great digital picture and sound for the price.
