5000 series LED-LCD TV

I've had this TV for a couple years now and have moved 2500 miles over mountains and dusty plains and it just keep going ...and going... and going... I've never had a problem with this television/ monitor since I've had it. If you want booming large sounds or have an ear that really appreciates sound then add a sound system but for normal viewing it isn't a necessity. The apps (applications) are what they are and so far haven't been upgraded and they might never be upgraded, no browser either, deal with it! Some of the apps have their own buttons on the remote and a few can be programed (4). The Wi-fi MediaConnect drops the signal for me when I stream movies from my computer on occasion but you can adjust the network load in the options, sometimes it helps ...sometimes it doesn't...oh well... Connected to my wifi with no problems at all, when they made this TV they did a pretty good job. I suppose it is the luck of the draw whether or not you get a great TV set or a lemon depends on a lot of things that are out of your control...it's called fate! Live it , love it!! Anyway I love the TV, buy it!!

The Philips product is under estimated in North America. Well known in Europe and elsewhere this LED TV was excellent value for the money with crisp images and great features. I was very impressed with the Netflix streaming quality as it was much better than my local cable provider's signal. The Media Connect option is works flawlessly and is a bonus. This was my first Philips purchase and I'm very impressed so far. You just can't find the same product with all the options this has for the relative price. The WiFi is also very stable and can stream any app at high def. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to friends or family.

This TV has many features and for the price, I am very happy with it. Some of the highlights: - Color and picture settings come up when the TV is turned on, to be set by the user. - Wireless connection was a breeze, it found the wifi immediately and connected without issue. - Lots of pre-loaded apps, including NetFlix, Vulu, YouTube, Pandora to name a few. Most of the others I probably won't use. - I actually prefer the "soap opera effect" so I have set the motion settings to maximum on this TV. However, it can be toned down. - Picture quality is excellent. Clear and crisp, colors are spot on. The room it's kept in has a large window, and I have no issue with glare at all. - The volume is ok, bass is pretty loud. However, if you're looking for it to sound like a movie theater in your living room, you may want to get extra speakers. For my taste, it's plenty loud in a room of approximate size 20x20. - Media Connect is a very nice perk. Software was downloaded to my laptop (for Windows 8) and it was as easy as selecting "start projecting" from the laptop. The TV did the rest. Absolutely foolproof. - It is rather lightweight considering the size, and extremely thin.. 2" at the widest. - The base swivels, I didn't know that when I bought it, but I was very happy about it. - There is an option to load from USB, but I haven't tried it yet. - 4 HDMI cables was very convenient for me, compared to 2 on my other TV. - Although the remote has no QWERTY keyboard, the menus do have a keyboard on screen to select letters. I find this to be covnenient and possibly easier than trying to see the buttons in the dark. I would absolutely recommend this TV, as I feel it stands up to the competition very well. Friends of mine have that other brand (the most popular one right now) and I truly believe this TV is just as good, if not better.

The picture quality of this TV is fantastic. It's my favorite I've viewed so far on any screen. It's a little glossy but we have more windows than any one else I know and it's okay. It's really not that bad especially once you start watching something. My big huge complaint with this TV is the way Net TV works, and it's lack of Amazon Instant Prime. The Net TV doesn't operate on a "source" so the TV WILL NOT let you change any picture settings on ANY app. YouTube, Hulu Plus, and Netflix all must be watched WITH Digital Motion turned ON always! It's INSANE. So insane that if it wasn't for the great picture quality on this TV I would have given this TV 2 stars instead of 4, but I'm a just person. I cringe thinking about the lack of help with the problem too. No one cares to pass on the information to someone who could actually make a firmware update to fix the problem. This COULD be done, but they won't do it unless enough people complain. Please someone else voice your opinion about Digital Motion always being on in Net TV. Make Net TV a separate source in a firmware update PLEASE!

Man, this is difficult. I'm a pretty loyal Philips USA customer. My first HDTV was a philips and when I sold it and got 4 year newer Samsung, I missed my old philips! So I sold it and got one of these. The display is awesome on this TV, and I feel like I can just see so much more. However, the Smart TV features of NET TV are terrible! There are two major drawbacks to Net TV: 1. The Philips HDTV does not treat Net TV as a source, and there is no "overall" TV settings, so there is no way to change any pictures settings on Net TV, and you cannot turn digital motion off. It's crazy. You are forced to watch Netflix with digital motion soap opera effect. Major bummer. 2. There is no Amazon Instant Video app. Not that I would use it because of the first problem, but if they fixed the first problem, this would be the second big step in making this TV a great smart TV. Despite these problems, the Netflix app did look great, and the streaming quality was far superior to my Xbox 360's Netflix app. I just cannot get over the digital motion that is forced on you by this TV. I hope your listening Philips, I want to stay a loyal Philips customer, but these issues are make or break if you are advertising this as a smart wireless TV.

Bought this, worked fantastic for 3 years (except for the optical out) and then promptly died one day without notice. I didn't expect it to last forever but 3 years is unacceptably low life span. Lots of inputs, great colour and performance.

After many years my wife and I decided to buy a new TV and thought Phillips was the way to go. So we bought this tv not realizing the pain it would cause. The tv would randomly shutoff, or shutoff when you adjust the volume. Called customer support 5 different times, had a tech come out, Phillips replaced my brand new tv with a messy scratched up tv and it still shuts off when pushing the volume bottons. Dont waste your time and money please. At time of reviews, people loved the tv.

The app on the TV are no longer working except Netflix. The company didn't invest in more app's.

I purchased this tv at sams and its going back, terrible sound, average picuture quality, Remote sucks , Cheap freaking tv and I thought Phillips was a good company, Never again
