Had replaced a manual espresso machine with this one this one 9 years ago. I am amazed how long it lasted. Only recently started to get faulty sometimes - after grinding coffee it discards it, without brewing - I suspected at first it was the grinder, but I believe it might rather be the brew group. Gave it a thorough clean, ran it a few times and it appears to be back to normal. Cross my fingers. However, I am looking at getting a replacement brew group. Sorry for those who had bad luck with their machine. With good care can last for a long time. I've learnt in a hard way. Lost my first machine because it was neglected during undergoing renovations which took longer than planned. :-((

SCREEN DEAD
3 YEARS USED AND NOW SCREEN DEAD...HAVE TO GET FIXED ... No local service centre, and have to send it to Vancouver to get fixed...costs $70 just to get the estimate...might cost around $250 for fixing...might as well get new machine and get warranty...have to check into other brands for warranty...

after 7 months the display went on it! I live 6 hour drive from service department and as I talk with the service tech, he says that its typical with these machines. I wish I could get my money back. This time was fixed under warranty but if it lasts only 6 or 7 months I cannot afford to keep this machine. So if Philips is aware of this problem why don't they recall these machines and replace the display with one that can stand up to the heat or what ever. It makes great coffee but 6 hour drive each way and then no parts in stock so now they have to ship it via mail! Hello Phillips please help.
