Saeco MinutoSuper-automatic espresso machine

I feel as long as it is maintenanced this machine will continue to perform excellent .

Although very intuitive to use I found the over all experience lacking. Both the large and medium coffee settings do not make a strong enough coffee (I use fresh locally roasted beans). I have resorted to brewing coffee using the espresso setting for 2 shots and then the coffee setting for one to get a cup that doesn't taste watered down. I find the steamer is high maintenance since the milk runs through it as opposed to inserting a steamer arm into a milk cup, you must take the time to clean every use not just wipe down the nozzle between steams and clean at end of day. Another issue is that it does not fit all sizes of togo cups (mine are the contigo you get in two packs at costco). I would just use shorter togos but most of them do not fit in my cars cup holder. I am happy I have it over a drip coffee maker, but over all expected more for the money. I would still recommend the company but not this exact product.

My older Phillips Coffee/Latti maker is the one I use, not as pretty this one is for my back-up.

Overall, we liked this espresso machine. It made good coffee--both espresso and a "regular" cup. When it worked well, it was great. It is important to clean it regularly--and grease the brewing unit well. You lose a lot of ground coffee that never makes it to the brewer if it isn't greased well. The most disappointing thing is that after 3 1/2 years, the sensor on the grinder quit working (and yes, we spoke with customer service). The coffee would grind and go into the brew unit, but the sensor thought it was out of coffee, and so it would dump the grounds and not brew. I believe this expensive of a machine should last more than 3.5 years without having to send it in for a repair. We did replace it with another Saeco product.

Overall good as long as you don't use pre-ground coffee. For some reason pre-ground dosent work very well - I get a lot of coffee-bean errors. Also, unfortunately 6 months after warranty expired something internal broke so I had to send it out of state for service.

Machine is easy to use and comes with excellent instruction book I have it set in the hottest temp and wish it would be about 10 degrees hotter but it is just a personal preference. I think most people would be happy with the coffee temp I had a little trouble with the bypass ground coffee shoot but again not a big issue as I rarely need to use it Overall I rate it 8 out of 10 and I would recommend to others

Concept of machine is great but even with regular maintenance expect breakdowns. I would buy the machine again if the defects could be corrected and water temp is hitter when using the coffee feature.

Average product. Could be better. But design is good.

I have had problems with it since I bought it. The bean sensor fell. The coffee started to leak out on the side of the downspout. This all happened within a year and a half of purchase. I previously owned aSaeco Majic Deluxe for over 10 years and had very little problems but I needed a part but was not available because the model was discontinued. I am using a different espresso maker and the Saeco is in my cupboard.
