After descaling my Saeco Intuita the "calc clean" button keeps flashing

    Published on 2021-07-04

If your Saeco Intuita espresso machine “calc clean” button keeps flashing after completing the descaling process, there might be a simple cause.

You have not filled the water tank up the MAX level with fresh water before you started the rinsing cycles.

In this case you need to:

    1. Fill the water tank up to the MAX level with fresh water and place it back into the machine. The No water light will turn off, the and the button keep flashing
    2. Place back the large container under the steam/hot water wand and the dispensing spout
    3. Press the flashing Hot water button to perform another rinsing cycle
    4. The machine starts dispensing the water through the steam wand until the water tank is empty. This takes about 3-5 minutes
    5. When the descaling procedure is completed, the Calc Clean light and the Hot water button turn off and only the No water light stays on
Important: If the “CALC CLEAN” light keeps on flashing, please repeat the steps 1 till 5 one or two more times until the CALC CLEAN light turns off.
    6. Rinse the water tank and fill it up with fresh water
    7. The machine starts warming up and perform an automatic rinsing cycle
    8. The machine is ready for use again
    1. Fill the water tank with fresh water to the MAX level

    2. Place the container under the steam/hot water wand and the dispensing spout

    3. Plug in the machine and switch it on by setting the power switch on the back of the machine to the “I” position. The ON/OFF button starts flashing

    4. Press the flashing ON/OFF button. The ON/OFF button turns off and the Calc Clean button starts flashing fast

    5. Press the fast flashing Calc Clean button

    6. If the Calc Clean button starts flashing slowly and the machine starts dispensing the solution at regular intervals:
You have interrupted the descaling procedure during the descaling cycle. Continue with the descaling procedure from step 5 in the descaling instructions.

    7. If the Calc Clean button starts flashing slowly and the hot water button starts flashing fast:
You have interrupted the descaling procedure during one of the rinsing cycles. Press the fast flashing Hot water button.

    8. If the machine starts dispensing the water through the steam wand until the water tank is empty:
The machine was interrupted during the first rinsing cycle. Continue with the descaling procedure from step 10 of the descaling instructions.

    9. If the machine first dispenses some water through the dispensing spout and then dispenses the rest through the steam wand until the water tank is empty:
The machine was interrupted during the second rinsing cycle. Continue with the descaling procedure from step 15 of the descaling instructions.
