Like the new features - showing on the screen the status of the machine, e.g. water temperature, water tank empty etc. Like the adjustable coffee dispensers. Had my first SAECO INCANTO for 12 years with some repairs and was very happy with the overall performance. However, I find the water temperature higher with this new machine. This is important to me because I like me coffee piping hot.

Adjustable coffee strength is an important feature that Saeco got right. When using milk carafe, a small amount of water is dispensed before the milk foam, this can thin down the beverage depending upon what you're making. Bean hopper and water tank are a bit small but not really a problem. The weekly cleaning procedure for the milk carafe is very fussy and tedious but important. An on screen count down feature for the coffee grounds waste container would be handy. The drip tray fills quickly, not really a problem but does require frequent emptying. Overall, on par with previously owned machines (other brand). The included printed manual does not fully correspond to the screen display, a bit annoying - manual should be updated

Out of the box this little machine shows lots of promise. It seemed to work well, and make good coffee but then the supporting equipment started to fail. The adjustable espresso outlet failed (is it called a grouphead on a fully automatic machine?). Coffee would still come out, but it it would no longer hold the adjustment and always drop down to the bottom position. The second is when the bean door is open, if it gets bumped and closes by gravity, the magnet retainer clip can break (and did). Without the magnet, the machine refuses to grind (I assume for safety reasons), but it's a full stop until you can find that magnet or another to take its place. Third, the water tank has a very flimsy handle, and the seal for the tank once in place is quite firm. That handle flexes tremendously, and eventually breaks. It's a shame the that both the bean hopper and the water tank, the two most interfaced items were so under-engineered. Obviously these did not undergo any sort of substantial testing as they would have failed quickly in the tests and been redesigned. Instead we are the guinea pigs and have to deal with these issues that will arise unless you take extreme care. Additionally a few smaller things: dry coffee grounds seem to get everywhere inside the machine. It starts to gum things up and it needs a thorough cleanup and re-grease (since the grease catches a lot of those dry grounds). Also, the machine dumps a lot of water into the tray during a rinse, but not much of that via the espresso outlet (grouphead?). So even if you place a cup to catch the rinse water, 80% ends up in the tray via the internal route. So, a few little things, a few bigger things and overall not an ideal experience. It does make reasonably good coffee when it's working, however. But having to send the unit in for service for all these little things that could have been designed and built better is just a shame. Hopefully they've learned from these issues in future products.

Great looking machine and makes a good coffee when it works. On the second day I had this machine, the icon indicating the bean hopper was empty appeared after pressing the ‘espresso’ button...however, the bean hopper was full. I have done all the troubleshooting I can, including cleaning the entire system, resetting the unit, using a different bean type (never used an oily bean), cleaning the grinder coffee chute, etc...the problem continues to persist. Im very disappointed with this as I owned a Vienna for 12 years before this without a problem. Dont know what to do at this point other than return it. A real shame.

When you star spending that kind of money on a cappuccino machine, you expect a high quality result! This model only comes with the integrated milk carafe option which only generates warm milk and very watery, barely there froth! I will be returning mine and opt for a model that has the manual milk frothing option!

I chose this rating as after less than a year machine stopped working. We are already over a month without coffee machine as it taken a long time to fix. We had a previous version of Saeco for over 10 years and had no major issues. I'm disappointed with this model.
