My Philips Avent warmer takes too long to warm up milk or food

    Published on 02 July 2025

There are several reasons why your Philips Avent Premium 2-in-1 Warmer & Sterilizer or Premium Fast Bottle Warmer may be taking longer than expected to warm milk or food.

    Check below to learn more.

Warming too much milk or food at one time makes warming take longer, especially if the starting temperature of the milk or food is already cold (e.g., refrigerated).

See the following table for different milk warming times based on the amount of milk in the container and its starting temperature.

Note: For food, it is not possible to estimate the warming time due to the varying consistency of baby food.

*The warming times in this table are based on using room temperature water.

When the appliance detects that the water in the base is higher than room temperature, it slows down the warming process to avoid overheating the milk.

To ensure consistent warming times, use fresh, room-temperature water.

Using the warmer multiple times in a row will result in slower warming times.

If you want to warm another bottle or container right away, do the following:

    1. Pour out the water from the previous session and refill the base with fresh, room-temperature water.
    2. Run a new program.

Changing the setting more than 20 seconds after starting a program causes the bottle warmer to switch to keep warm mode and it won’t heat your milk or food.

To make sure your milk or food is the correct temperature, only change the setting within the first 20 seconds after switching on the warmer.
