When shaving facial hair (such as your beard or mustache) with Philips OneBlade, there are three golden rules to remember:
You can shave dry or wet with gel or foam, depending on your preference.
Keep the blade flat against your skin
The flat part of the blade is designed to glide across your skin (see illustration below). For that reason, it’s important to keep the blade flat and maintain gentle pressure as it moves across your skin.
Shaving against the grain
Unlike some other shaving methods, OneBlade works best when you shave against the grain. This lifts the hairs and channels them into the teeth of the blade.
Keep your skin taut
As you shave, use the fingers of your free hand to spread your skin and keep it tight. This is particularly relevant in areas where the skin is naturally less tight, such as the neck. Keeping your skin taut pulls hairs upright and creates a smooth surface for the blade to glide across, resulting in an optimal shave.
