This cup changed our lives!!!GtubeMom1. Our son was as born extremely premature with a severe cleft lip and palate. Because of this and other complications he never learned to feed by mouth and had to be fed via g-tube. His therapists recommended multiple nipples and cups but he didn't make progress with any of them. He has trouble with suction so straws were frustrating for him. I had to remove all the spill proof attachments on all his sippy cups so he could try to drink on his own since these require suction as well. This resulted in big spills all over the place and he never was comfortable with them. Then I discovered this cup and it was like a lightbulb went on for him. For the first time ever he was taking full feedings by mouth and actually enjoying it. Plus he started feeding himself!!!! He doesn't have to suck at all and when he tilts it back he doesn't get flooded with milk plus he doesn't have to worry if he's holding it correctly it works no matter which side he picks it up from. And if he knocks it over there's very little mess since the only portion that spills is the bit trapped in the reservoir at the top. We now only rarely have to use his tube for feedings and he's starting to explore other foods as well. I showed his therapist the cup and she's now recommending it to other families with great success. This cup opened up a whole world to our son I'm so thankful it was created

Better than avent's hard spout cupLike I said, it's better than the hard spout cups but it still isn't great. The top does have a lot of pieces but they are big and easy to clean and assemble once you know how. It does leak a little if you flip it upside down. My problem is my child who always leaves her cups upside down on the beds, which in the case of this cup means the valve gets left open and all the liquid spills out. I also didn't realize when I bought these that the tops would not fit on the other avent bottles we already have.

Overly complicatedThe cup looks nice and I like the lid, but there are too many parts. When my child drinks from the cup, it gets all over him and releases too much milk too quickly. It's hard to tell if there is a right or wrong direction for the seal, I've tried both directions and get the same result. Also, I wish the handles were optional and could be removed when the child gets older. I'm disappointed that it makes almost as much mess as drinking from a regular glass.

Assembly is too complicatedEven after a youtube video, I could not see my way to putting this together. Much easier to use the sippy cups with valves that I used for my first grandchild. One should not have to spend that much time trying to assemble a cup.

Love, Love, Love ITLove this cup, our little one started using this cup at 12 months. She figured it out very quickly and can handle it easily. Some have complained that their kiddos play with it and spill it, but we dont allow her to walk around with a cup. She knows that it is to be left in the kitchen and only drinks out of it when she is thirsty. Yes, it's a little more work on us, but less spills and messes everywhere.

Great cup - wish the handles were optionalI am a pediatric speech therapist working with children who have difficulty eating. I have used many "specialized therapy" cups. I happened across this cup and really love it! As with any new skill, adult supervision is needed. It doesn't take long for kiddos to figure out they can drip/dump the cup by pushing the center of the lid with their finger - but that can happen with a traditional sippy style cup as well - I find some initial consistent teaching that "cups are for drinking" and setting the cup out of reach solves the problem. I love that I can have families/clients purchase their own cup on a regular shopping trip rather than having to purchase an expensive cup from a medical supply company.

LOVE IT! .. I'm facebooking it now, lol.My son was almost 2 and we still ha couldn't found a sippy cup he liked. The nuby's spout is so large its hard for me to drink out of, the hard tiped sippies are just uncomfortable. He allready loved drinking out of big kid cups but i couldnt risk the mess. when i saw this cup i knew it was the solution. My son LOVES IT.
