My Philips Avent Baby monitor has a bad connection

    Published on 2020-02-10

Use these possible causes and solutions if the parent unit of your Philips Avent Baby monitor keeps losing connection or the sound gets interrupted.

    Units are out of range

The baby unit and the parent unit of your Philips Avent Baby monitor might be out of operating range. Obstructions, such as walls and trees, can limit the range of your Philips Avent Baby monitor. Try a different location or decrease the distance between the baby unit and parent unit. It can take up to 10 seconds before the connection between the units is reestablished.

Note: If the signal is lost, the parent unit will beep three times every 20 seconds.

Units are too close to each other

Make sure that the baby unit and parent unit of your Philips Avent Baby monitor are at least 1.5 meters / 5 feet away from each other to prevent interference.

Other devices are interfering the connection

The connection between the parent unit and baby unit of your Philips Avent Baby monitor runs on a wireless connection. The units of your Philips Avent Baby monitor may be too close to other devices that are interfering on the same frequency (e.g. smartphones, tablets, laptops, DECT phones or even microwaves). Try out different locations or turn off other devices and test again.

    A software error occured

You can reset the parent unit of your Philips Avent Video baby monitor by simultaneously pressing the power button and the navigation down button for 1 second. The parent unit will turn off automatically after 1 second. In order to turn the Philips Avent Video baby monitor on, press the power button again.
