I balked at paying €75 for these replacement heads, but after a week of use I can report that these heads are a great advance on the original RQ12 that came with my RQ1280 shaver. They shave very quickly and don't cut around my lips or leave razor burn on my neck like the old ones did. I'm pleased to say that they are worth the double price that the originals cost.

I have a combination beard of both coarse and fine hair. The coarse hair can often get pulled by bad shavers. Not the case with this replacement. Maybe people aren’t finding out their shaver each day or maybe aren’t using shave lotion/creme. I’ll be buying it again. Very pleased with it. *no, it does not have individual openings per blade but I have not found any negative issues with that. Each blade does still flex independently of the other two.

I’ve been using my Norelco 1290X shaver for 4 or 5 years. When I first got it, it produced a very good shave but after a year or so I had to replace the head. Unfortunately, by then the head design had changed to the 2nd generation “improved” RQ12 Plus (RQ12+ or RQ12/62). This head did not produce the same quality shave and I’ve been disappointed since. The general reviews were not very good for the head, either. I finally decided that since it’s been a couple years, the blades must need replacing so I reluctantly ordered a replacement set. However, in spite of having the same model name as the “improved” RQ12+, this set is actually a newer 3rd generation design and is giving me the best shave I have had in quite a long time, if not ever. The 2nd generation was called the RQ12/62 while the 3rd generation is the RQ12PRO or RQ12/72. So, make sure you get the head with the "72" in the name.

After 5 years with my 1255X shaver I thought that I'd see if new heads would improve the shaving performance. The RQ12 gives a closer shave with less strokes--I'm very glad I upgraded.

I've had my razor for 3 years, i used the original head for 2 of those years. I shave my head and face daily so i put more ware on it than most. Towards the end of the first two years on the original head i noticed the shave wasn't as close and it took longer to shave my head and face. Much longer. So i purcgased the rq12+ head to replace the original. It was only slightly better than my to year old very used original rq12 head. I was able to shave with it for 9 months before i had to stop it off frustration because of the poor shave and how much time it takes. I refuse to buy another product from norelco because of the expense and disappointment i experienced with this one. To sum it up. The replacement heads rg12+ are about as good new, as a 2 year old very used original head rg12. Don't buy this product or the the replacement. They aren't worth the money. Norelco, the only way to fix this is to come up with a head that shaves as well as the original that doesn't cost as much as we paid for the whole original unit.

Well I guess I'm going against the grain with a positive review, but after my first shave with the RQ12+ replacement head I found it cut the flat laying neck hairs much quicker than the original RQ12 did. Overall it gave a great shave, just like the original. I am not looking forward to changing the individual heads because (well it sucks to get old) my fingers and thumbs don't work well on fine motor skills anymore. But I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I have replaced my shaver head every year. Now with the new RQ12+ shaver head I can do it much more infrequently and just replace the blades. This is an amazing improvement to an already great product and design. Over the many years I have owned my Philips Norelco SensoTouch3D 1250XCC unit it has allowing performed fo me.

My original head needed replacement for the third time but found out at the store Philips discontinued the original design and came up with a new one. Purchased it and gave it a try. First impression was the noise. A bit noisier than original head but felt smoother on the skin. The chamber inside is bigger and can hold more hairs. I found that head performance was great. Seemed to actually cut quicker. Maybe my last head was really gone but this new one cut great. Easy to take apart, clean and put back together. One problem I found was when I decided to pack it for travel. I have a travel case that also doubles as a charger but when I tried to put the shaver inside, it was impossible due to the shaver head being bigger. You have to take the head off and pack it separately. Philips provides a plastic shield you can slide the head in but this cannot go in the shaver travel case. Overall this new head shave's well and I like the range of motion, easily matching your face.
