More than 125 years of innovation to brighten your life
Sleek, streamlined and easy-to-use, there’s a lot of innovation and bright ideasunder the smooth surface of our Sleep & Wake-up Light and energy lights.
Following the curve
In the full spectrum of colors that our eyes can see, white isn’t just white. The curve of white across the spectrum ranges from cozy reds to cool blues, like we see in natural sunrises, daylight and sunsets. Our Sleep & Wake-up Light spans millions of shades of natural whites by mimicking the same hues seen in nature, and simulating the smooth increases and decreases of light intensity we experience at dawn and dusk.
A million transitions
Our Sleep & Wake-up Light is designed to turn on at a million times dimmer than its full intensity. Even in a completely dark room many people can’t tell that the light has come on. As the light increases our wake-up light is configured so that each gradation brighter is so small it can hardly be noticed. So you are woken slowly and gradually, without jarring increases of light.
Personalize your morning
Lux is used to measure the amount of light intensity in a given area, and a light emitting around 200 lux can usually wake someone up. Since everyone’s sensitivity to light is different, our wake-up lights offer multiple intensity levels so you can set the device to the exact setting that will ensure you are fully awake when it reaches maximum intensity.
Our eyes don’t need blue light to see, but exposure to it may have a direct impact on our hormones. The sun provides a lot of natural blue light and it’s why sometimes it feels like a bright sunny day can impact our mood. Our energy lights are engineered to maximize blue light energy emitted and its positive benefits without increasing the intensity of bright light on your eyes.
As light travels farther from its source the intensity is diffused and lessened. Our energy lights narrow the path of the blue light so that the light is more targeted in the area it covers, but delivers the same level of intensity. Its smooth surface evenly distributes and emits light from the LEDs inside for more energy efficiency and less intensity on your eyes.
Since the introduction of the first Philips light bulb in 1892 we have been at the forefront of lighting technology. From infrared to halogen to LED to Xenon, we’re looking for the next improvement or innovation that can make a difference in people’s lives. Our range of Sleep & Wake-up Light brings the spirit of innovation into your life for better sleep, waking and energy through light.Read more
