Irritation can occur after using the Philips Sonicare Teeth Whitening gel if the whitening gel comes in contact with your gums.
Types of irritation may include redness, a mild burning feeling, or white spots on the gums. In most cases, the irritation only lasts 1-3 days. If irritation persists, pause the treatment until the irritation has stopped.
To prevent irritation, use smaller droplets when applying, and wipe excess gel off your gums using a toothbrush or cotton swab. Because the whitening gel is absorbed through your tooth, it is not necessary to coat the surface of the tooth right up to the gum line.
