What whitening progress should I expect?

    Published on 19 January 2024

Whitening results vary from person to person and depend on many factors, including anatomy, age, tooth condition, hygiene, and your current tooth shade.

Your Philips Sonicare Teeth Whitening Kit comes with a shade guide, which you can use to track your progress over the nine days of use.

    • Crowns, veneers, fillings, dentures, and other restorations will not whiten.
    • Tooth whitening may cause temporary teeth dehydration, resulting in white spots or striations. Uneven whitening will fade to normal within 2-7 days of using the whitening product.
    • The teeth might appear whiter immediately after the procedure, but it does not get whiter.
    • You should see the final results about one week after completing your nine-day whitening treatment series.
    • The area of the tooth closest to the gums may take longer to lighten than the biting edge. It will also remain the darkest part of the tooth.
