DisappointedThis is my 3rd Avent pump and I am very disapointed with the design changes. After having much trouble with a competator's pump with my first child, I purchased an Avent manual pump. It worked so well I got the double electric pump with my second child in 2011. When I was pregnant for my 3rd this past year, I wanted a new pump, but could only find the updated model. There are several changes that make this pump a poorly considered change from the previous model.
I get significantly less milk and more nipple soreness with this version of the pump than I did with my older model.
The revised disign includes smaller flanges that don't work well or fit well for me (and I have small breasts to begin with). The suction is less intense, but even so is painful because of the design of the flange. Also, with this model, I have very limited control of the suction. With the old model, suction was set manually by the user, then put on "cruise control" and continued at whatever pace / strength you set.
I do like the new bag design and the new bottle design. The entire package is light weight and easy to transport. But the actually function of the machine is horrible. I'm angry that I spent so much on a breast pump that I can't use, especially after having such good results with the previous models. I am back to using my 2-year-old electric pump and 3-year-old manual pump and both are holding up great so far.

A great pump for ebf babies!I bought this breast pump mainly because I love the way my baby was able to easily switch between breast & that occasional bottle when needed. I tried all the bottles on the market & this was definitely a keeper since she had no problems latching on right away. I love that I can just pump directly into the bottle & not have to stress about spilled milk or leaving any important nutrients behind in a bottle that you have to transfer the milk out of. I love that I can sit back & relax & not have to lean forward to pump. This pump is really so comfortable & easy to use. There are 3 options for the suction & a button for when your milk lets down. It's enough suction for me, my milk is established & I pump about 5 oz. in about 3-5 minutes, depending on whether my breasts are full. If they are full I pump an average of 8 oz. I honestly feel since this pump has the petals on the shield I really do feel my breasts empty in sort of the same manner as when I breastfeed my baby. Overall this is a great breast pump & the only reason I didn't give it the 5 stars cause unfortunately it does not have a battery compartment which I would have loved it to have.
*** A tip for any mom who is having trouble finding a bottle for that very picky breastfed baby. Stick to the same bottle that you would like to use because it can take baby 2-3 weeks to get the hang of it.

Not recommendedI bought this pump as it was marketed to be of great comfort and ease of use, also cheaper than The premiere brand Mendela. Breast pumps are expensive and you would think that with that price it would atleast work for a long time. Im a first time mom and breastfeeding is important for me. I used the pump to extract milk that my bAby can drink at night or when we go out. After using a new double ectric Avent breast pump for 2 weeks 3xa day i notice that 1 pump is not pumping as efficient as the other one. Also there were times that even when pumping for an hour i will only get 20-30 ml even though whdn i manually extract milk i can see that i have lots of milk. I wanted to exchange at babies r us but since its used they do not allow it, how can i get a replacement with Avent as I fear that i got a faulty product

Pros and ConsMachine started making clicking sounds after only 4 weeks. It then started to randomly pause during pumping while on the second speed setting and most recently after only 5 weeks of use has lost pretty much all suction.
Resulting in having to purchase a manual pump so I can continue pumping.
I phoned philips today and spent 30 minutes on the phone doing trouble shooting at which time they said because they were not able to fix it over the phone they would send me a replacement machine.
Pumping is very important to me as my newborn is in a growth spurt and without having a supply stored I have a very hard time keeping up with his hunger needs.
Very pleased with the customer service I received thank you Philips I am looking forward to my new machine arriving.

Motor diesI do NOT recommend this product. I used this product for 2 months on an occasional basis and the motor died on me. I contacted the company and was told they could do nothing for me. Pumps are an expensive purchase that you count on and now I am out the money for this pump and have to buy a new one.

Fair productOverall product is satisfactory and does the job. Would be better if it allowed more mobility during use. Un-fortunately auction is so strong it keeps causing nipple damage which makes it hard to continue using. There is not enough variance in suction settings. The designer didn’t think about when a woman has nipple trauma as it is excruciating to try and use when there is any damage to the nipple. I’m pumping exclusively and this machine is the source of my nipple trauma, but I have no choice but to continue use.

Avent Double Electric Pump Suction LossI bought this pump online from a retailer. I noticed a suction change in one side after a few weeks of use. I contacted target and they sent a replacement which stopped working completely after a week. I resorted back to the previous one since I hadn't returned it and it takes at least 30 to get 1-2 ounces. I am awaiting a new pump (different brand) so I can hopefully return the avent for a full refund. I love the avent (I have 16 in different sizes) bottles and soothie pacifiers. Too bad the pump couldn't last.

Was not pleasedI purchased this product expecting to have better quality then I received.. Tried to use it multiple times and was highly disappointed in the end result, it seemed to have no suction power. I could sit with it on for almost an hour and barely get 1 oz combined from both breast. I've always stood by Phillip products but this time I am extremely displeased..
