Can I pump while my breast pump is plugged into a power source?

Published on 16 April 2026

Philips Avent Hands-free Wearable Electric Breast Pump

No. You cannot pump with your Philips Avent Natural Care Hands-free Wearable Electric Breast Pump when it is plugged into a power source.
Use a power source (an adapter or a power bank) with a USB-C port, of at least 5 W (5 V – 1 A) for your single breast pump or at least 10 W (5 V – 2 A) for your double breast pump.
Using a power source with lower specifications might result in slow charging or not charging.

Philips Avent Hands-free Electric Breast Pump

Yes. You can still use your Philips Avent Hands-free Electric Breast Pump when it is plugged into a power source. But please note that the battery will not charge during pumping.
Make sure you use the USB charging cable included in the box with a 9 W (5 V –1.8 A) adapter or other power supply (power banks, USB wall sockets, etc.).
Using a weaker power source may result in slower charging, and your pump may not work at all when plugged in.
