Have you even tested this?!I am using Avent single breast pump for a month now. Since beginning I had issues with upper lid which would always dettach from pressure I had to press to close it again every 2 minutes. The sound is terrible, I bet that even actual cow milking machines sound better. I needed 1hr of pumping to get almost all milk out, but some of it always remained behind, so my milk supply decreased. Finally, a month after purchase it creates almost no vacuum
at all!! I checked everything - both lids, silicone at the nipple-hole... everything seems fine but it simply does not work. At this point more milk gets out when I simply squeeze my breast, than with the pump. The problem is that I had no choice on purchase - Avent has monopoly on breast pumps inmy country (literally no other brand for pumps) - but I am so mad that I will take time to write to each retailer in the country about my experience.

Very comfortableI got Lanisnoh pump from my insurance and it works great but I would be in pain the first 6-7 minutes of pumping. The shield had a little bit of rubber around the rim but the rest was plastic, so by the time I finished my nipple were really red and sore, and even cut. I did it that way for 3 months, but then I came across avent comfort and I can honestly say it is comfortable. The rubber shield make pumping enjoyable my nipple aren't red and sore after I'm done.
I work full time so I'm pumping all my milk out, so I pump about 5 to 6 times a day everyday. I highly recommended this product especially to mom who have to go back to work and still want to give their babies breast milk.

True to the Philips Avent brandFirst, I must tell you I received a free pump in exchange for my honest review. This pump is pretty similar to the other Philips Avent pump I have used. A nice thing about this pump is that you don`t have to lean forward to use it so it can be a bit more comfortable (comfort is key to pumping!). I have a strong letdown and for others like me, if you are using a single you may want to have an extra bottle/cup to catch milk from the other side while you pump.
I am honestly not a huge fan of pumping in general (I AM a fan of breastmilk but typically find pumping to be less comfortable and more work than breastfeeding) so a few tips for those who are new to pumping and think this pump (or any pump) is not working for them: Comfort is important. If you are stressed or scared of using the pump, do your best to calm down. I know it sounds silly but dim the lights, play relaxing music, breathe deeply, and think warm thoughts about your baby. If you are using a single and have the ability to, try pumping on one side while feeding your baby on the other. I found it helped me get used to pumping and I generally was able to get more milk this way.

Don't BuyI've been using this pump for a little over two months. If I could return it, I would. Often, after dissembling to clean, I can't get the thing to pump properly again. I find myself constantly adjusting the parts in order to get proper suction. I could live with this, however, even though it is annoying, since I always manage to get it working eventually.. The worst part of this pump for me is the leaking. Milk is constantly dripping out and getting on my clothing. No matter how careful you are while using this, there is always a mess. Also, the pump does not screw on tightly to the bottle, no matter how hard you tighten (this seems to be a problem with avent bottles in general.) If you put the pump down and it accidentally tips or if milk gets too close to the top of the bottle, you have a huge mess on your hands. I'm sure there are better pumps out there. I would not recommend this.

Stopped working in less than 6 monthsThe motor completely stopped working. It doesn't suck and shuts off after a few pulses. I've only used it for about 6 months.
However, I did really like it while it worked.

Worse Than Hand ExpressingThe performance of this pump has gone downhill since my first use. I'm increasingly getting less and less milk, and this morning, after using the pump for about 3 months now, I got .2 oz from one breast using the pump and another .7oz hand expressing after using the pump. I shouldn't be getting a better performance from my own hands! What's the point in using the pump?

Product "dying"I've been using the pump for less than 2 months and it appears as though the motor is dying, resulting in an inability to pump an acceptable amount of milk. I was pleased with the product until about a month into the use when I noticed I was not pumping as much milk as normal, and last night I noted that it seems to be a technical issue.
I'm fairly disappointed as this otherwise is a comfortable pump to use and I started out with good results. Frustrating to have spent so much money on something I'm only getting less than 2 months of use out of.

Do not get this pump.Do not buy this pump. I received this single breast pump as a free sample to review. I have a breast pump that I use occasionally. I am a stay at home mom and prefer to nurse because it is more convenient. However, I do find pumping to be helpful occasionally when a babysitter comes or when we are going to be running around a lot. I found the design of the pump to be intuitive and easy to put together, however, there were so many parts. I thought the motor was nice and tidy on the bathroom counter. This is the end of the praise I have for this product. I do not understand why single breast pumps exist. They are such a waste of time. I would highly recommend spending the extra money and buying a double breast pump. This pump also claims that you don't have to lean over and that it offers a gentle suction or pull on the breast. These are not selling features to me. I found myself leaning forward to assist gravity on the flow of milk and to see how much milk was coming out. I also found that it was actually too gentle. I want to make sure I am getting all of the milk out and would not mind if there was a little more yanking. Perhaps I am used to rougher pumps. In any case, I do not value the benefits offered by this pump and would recommend any mom, whether working outside or inside the home to spend up and buy a double pump.
